Day Eighteen: Gouging the Eye

Officer Tyla Leonard sat at her desk in the Police Station listening to Chief Kyle Pitman lead a team meeting. The ten remaining members of the Police Force were discussing their plans for the rest of the game. While they still had more people on their team than the Robbers did, the Robbers had pulled off a few heists and took a lot of money. Tyla had not been at the station during the jailbreak. She had not been escorting The Cold Killer when he escaped. She didn’t know what had happened in those situations, but what she did know was that Chief Pitman and Dep. Chief Heidman were at eachothers’ throats. Looking around the room, Tyla could see the team taking sides judging by their faces. She knew it would be devastating for the team if there was a split, but she braced for the worst.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

PI Nathalie Hainaut stood in her kitchen brewing a pot of coffee. Looking over her shoulder at her bulletin board, a smile appeared on her face. She had drawn a giant map, complete with notes and pictures of everything she had learned so far. She was very confident that no one, not Cops or Robbers, had noticed her up to this point in the game, and that she was able to discover much about both teams. She would blend in with crowds during the day learning what she could about her opposition, and she would never go out late at night because that would draw attention to herself if anyone saw her. Her methods were slow and tedious but they were working. At the bottom right-hand corner of her map a picture was posted; A picture of the Robbers’ new hideout.

The Following is the Account of PI Silas Pedro Esq. on Day Eighteen:

Silas had been on his toes for days. Since the close call at the Robbers’ hideout he had not been out very much. Because of his unique physical appearance, Silas did not like to be out during the day and draw the Robbers’ attention, but it was around suppertime and he had to go out and buy some fish for dinner. He had hit up the store quickly, and was on his way back to his house on 20 Maple Drive. He had been looking out his windows for days searching for any type of suspicious activity, but paranoia had begun to set in. There were always people walking up and down the streets, but too many of them were looking at his house in particular. Peering between the houses, looking for an entrance, glancing at the windows to see if anybody was home, those people had to be up to something. Running up his steps, unlocking the door and rushing inside, Silas took a deep breathe. There was lots of money at stake if he didn’t finish this game alive.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Andrew “The Menace” Cowin and Adam “The Chump” Clarke sat in the dark in the “dreadlocked” man’s bedroom. They eagerly anticipated this man’s return to his house. He had come much too close at their previous hideout and tonight they were going to make sure that he never came close again. It was risky to be in someone else’s house because you never knew what could happen, or who could betray you, but this needed to be done. The Menace was excited to finally shoot somebody, while The Chump had already ended the game for one Cop and would like to do it again. Suddenly, The Menace could hear someone coming up the stairs.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Silas stifled a yawn as he neared the top of his stairs. The sun was almost down outside, but the day’s last rays of sunshine came through the windows at sharp angle leaving every area untouched in the dark. He reached for his bedroom door, but before touching the handle he realized something. He didn’t know why he remembered something so trivial, but he hadn’t shut his bedroom door when he left the house. Without any more thought on the matter, Silas lurched into a run towards the stairs and leaped from the top to the main floor. He could hear his bedroom door burst open, and two sets of heavy footsteps running above him. Regaining his footing he ran for the front door, but realized he wouldn’t have time to unlock and open the door before the Robbers were down the stairs behind him. So instead he turned towards the basement, opened the door, and jumped down to the bottom floor. Closing the door at the bottom of the stairs behind him, he looked frantically for something to block the door.

He could hear the Robbers coming towards the basement as he struggled to push a dresser against the door. The second he had it in place he felt a strong force crash against the door, shifting but not moving the dresser. Silas grabbed other furniture and pushed them against the dresser. One of the Robbers yelled something at the other one before crashing all his force against the door shifting the dresser again, this time a little further. With the door opened a crack, the Robber pushed his gun through and took a couple shots at Silas who had to move quickly. Realizing he didn’t have much time, Silas ran to one of the windows which were situated on the wall about a foot above his head, stood on a chair and began to open the window. He had to jump off the chair to avoid the gunshots that followed him from his backyard. The other Robber had gone around to the back, and slowly approached the window. Behind him, Silas heard (and felt) another crash as the Robber behind the door put all his force into it. Silas had to think quickly.

well mike i think you need me as a co-writer cuz u made a mistake in the show. see earlier on in the game i had to take over a house and i would have killed ppl there, i wouldnt have tied them up cuz then i would have to go out of my way to feed them and such. but thats besides the point.

silas ur lucky this isnt real life cuz im not that stupid. if i was gonna kill you i would kill you. i wouldnt shut the door or move anything in the house. but im glad im a beast and im gonna break that door in. kind of hope u survive tho silas cuz i wanna take u out of this gamein not such a stupid way. i want u to beg for ur life lmao.

tyla i hope u guys break off into groups so i can take u guys out easier. cops got nothing on me, for example i got stopped today by cops in realy life for walking down the street and nothing happened lol. that had nothing to do about the game but if anyone wants to hear a story just ask.

one last thing mike: nathalie wouldnt find out the new location of our hideout from me so dont even put that in there. im smart when it comes to stuff like that.

Another excellent day at Cops and Robbers. Silas, as always, was in excellent form. I trust as usual he will manage to get out by some Matrix like Kung Fu jump kick helicopter thing.
Suspence has left me wondering.
And in the last days of the game Micah should be killed and Patrick should solve all the mysteries with the brilliance of Encyclopedia Brown, the charm of Sean Connery and the good looks of Patrick Sutherland.

Good work Mike... Keep it up

Hey guys... here's the plan.

I am only going to do two more this spring. I am real busy with school work until the summer, and because lots of people go away and/or are really busy I am going to leave the final third for september. This may change, but until something drastic happens this will be my schedule.

i'm sorry that this thing has taken a year to finish.
