Day Twenty-Five: Super Break-Out

Sgt. Clements slipped out of the Police Station without anyone noticing he had gone. It was not enough that the team had six Robbers in jail, they needed to be united as one team. It was going to be up to him to achieve this. First, he had to find Chief Kyle Pitman, and second he had to bring him back and reconcile his differences with Deputy Chief Heidman. It would be a tough job, but Clements was dedicated.

---------------------------------------------------

The Menace quickly moved through the tunnels up to a door labeled Johnny’s Fine Foods. Taking a deep breath, The Menace shoved the door open and put one foot in the doorway before a deafening alarm went off, startling him, as well as turning him away. Too many thoughts filled The Menace’s mind, like how could he use the tunnels anymore? And could he get out before the Cops got to the other end? Would this bring attention to the area where he hid his money? He made a big mistake, and hopefully he would not have to pay for it.
The following is the account of Bryant “The Legend” Trotman on Day Twenty-Five:

The Legend was surprised to find that his teammates already had a plan to escape. Not even a full day after being in jail, there was already hope that they would escape, they just had to wait for the perfect time. It was awkward however being in jail with the Wit and The Architect. They obviously planned to kill eachother after they escaped, so what was he to do? How would this affect their escape plan? It didn’t matter to The Legend however, as long as he got to escape and get a piece of that money that The Menace had escaped with.

--------------------------------------------------

Captain Dirks’ computer screen flashed a message that an alarm was going off at Johnny’s Fine Foods. It was time to roll. This meant that they probably had the location of the last Robber, and with luck they could take him out and win the game. All they would have to do if they caught him, was wait until Day 30 and the game would be over. Springing into motion he told his team that they needed to move quickly to catch this guy. Everyone wanted to go too, but obviously some people needed to stay behind. Cpt. Dirks knew that he wanted to work with Sgt. Wells, and he picked Officer Edwards, and Officer Tyla to come along too. Deputy Chief Heidman wanted to go too, but Captain Dirks told him that Heidman would be the only one he trusted to watch the station. After all, he had been the one that was super pissed that Chief Pitman had let the last batch of Robbers escape. So Deputy Chief Heidman and Lt. Mandy stayed to guard the station. Where was Sgt. Clements?

-------------------------------------------------

The Legend noticed that something was happening in the other room. The Cops were leaving! The window in the door was small, and he was on a weird angle, but he could see that most likely only two Cops were left to stand guard. If this was not their chance, The Legend didn’t think it would ever come. He told the rest of the Robbers that this was it, and they all agreed. The Wit only glared at The Architect.

The Stylist pulled the keys out of her pocket, and unlocked her cell which contained her and The Architect, and then they opened the second one which contained The Chump and The Hutt, and finally opened the Legend’s cell which he occupied with The Wit. They quietly exited their cells and The Architect peered out of the door window, counted one two three, and they all poured into the office section of the Police Station.

--------------------------------------------------

Deputy Chief Heidman was furious that his “teammates” excluded him from yet another raid. It was getting ridiculous. Why didn’t they trust him? Thinking about the six Robbers in the holding cells, Heidman told Lt. Mandy to go check on the prisoners, which she began to do. But just as she was about to open to door, it opened and all the Robbers tried to push by her. Instinctively, Heidman grabbed his gun off his desk and began to shoot to injure into the crowd by the door.

His first couple shots missed as he was across the room, but then he saw one shot hit The Architect in the thigh knocking him down, and then another hit The Wit in the arm startling him. Lt. Mandy tried to grab another Robber, but unfortunately she ran in the middle of Heidman’s gunfire and received multiple blows to the torso. She stumbled and fell as her suit’s blood packets burst open. Immediately a staff member burst in the door and tackled Deputy Chief Heidman so he could not take anymore shots. As a rule The Cops are not allowed to shoot other Cops, and if they do, they are eliminated.

---------------------------------------------------

As The Wit watched his team escape out the door, due to the mistake by the Cops, he couldn’t believe that he had been shot again. Even though there were no Cops left to arrest him, he still needed to go to the Hospital to get “healed.” Suddenly he noticed that The Architect was getting up from the floor on the other side of the room. The Wit decided that he wasn’t dead yet and ran over to one of the Cops and took her gun, just as The Architect was running over to grab another gun on one of the desks.

The Wit yelled for the Architect to stop and put up his hands. The Architect’s back was to The Wit as he stopped and put his hands in the air. The Architect began apologizing and saying that it was necessary to kill him and The Verdict earlier in the game. The Wit could see The Architect inching closer to the gun and he told him again to stop. He was not going to allow The Architect to escape, and his suit told him he only had three minutes left to make it to the hospital. The Architect apologized one more time, and actually whimpered when he said that he needed the money. The Wit smiled and laughed at The Architect’s back as he pulled the trigger and shot The Architect again and again in the back. His revenge was complete. He dropped the gun and hustled out the door and over to the hospital.

---------------------------------------------------

The Legend ran with The Chump and The Stylist, with The Hutt falling behind, but trying his hardest. The Legend saw a new light in The Hutt’s eyes. He could tell that The Hutt wanted to win now. He had been in jail for a long time. He didn’t know what happened to The Wit and The Architect, but he had his assumptions. It didn’t matter though, because The Legend was free again, and he was happy. Now all they had to do was find The Menace.

So today we say goodbye to a few of our friends.

Firstly we must bid farewell to Deputy Chief Scott Heidman:

His aspirations were the death of him, as he wanted to lead the team, but was left out to dry. He accidentally shot his own teammate and was eliminated.

We must also say goodbye to Lieutenant Amanda Maurice:

Too bad that she was shot by her own teammate. Bud luck.

And lastly a small take care to Ryan “The Architect” Mateulewicz:

He stabbed his own team in the back, and in the end he was shot in his own back. I spose you get what you deserve.

The Standings so far:

Cops:
Nada

Robbers:
$300,000 split 6 ways.

PIs:
Nathalie: $200,000
Pat: nada

Next time on Cops and Robbers… The Cops have a big mess to clean up, The Robbers try to find The Menace, and Pat sends out the many pictures he took of the escaped Robbers.

Day Twenty-Four: Problems on the Inside

With three Cops escorting The Legend, he knew that getting saved was not very likely. The Menace was the only other Robber loose, and while The Legend did not doubt The Menace’s abilities, it would be downright foolish to try and free him. Nevertheless, as The Legend was taken out of the hospital and slowly across the street he looked around hoping for some glimmer of hope. As all three Cops had their guns drawn, The Legend also knew it would not be wise to try to escape on foot. The games was probably over as soon as he stepped foot into the Police Station.

--------------------------------------------------------

Across the street PI Patrick Sutherland snapped shots of the Robber and the three Cops walking from the hospital to the Police Station. As they looked his way, Pat only smiled and waved. The Cops knew who he was because they had arrested him earlier in the game, so he was not worried abut them taking notice. If this Robber escaped, Pat would have some nice pictures to send to the SWAT guys.

The following is the account of Officer Tyla Leonard on Day Twenty-Four:

With all the Cops outside of the holding cells with their guns drawn it would be insane for the Robbers to try anything as they shut The Legend up in one of the cells with the other five Robbers. Things were actually looking pretty good for the Cops in Tyla’s eyes. Even though Chief Pitman was MIA, all the other Cops were getting along pretty well. Six Robbers in jail was quite the accomplishment, and Tyla was proud of her team. The Cops believed that there was only one more Robber out there, and soon enough they would find him.

After putting The Legend into his cell, Tyla walked over to where Lt. Mandy was seated at her desk and they began to talk strategy. Mandy had been talking with Tyla for the last couple days about what their plan would be for the last couple days of the game. Whichever Cops finished the game would all split the money so the more Cops finish the game, the less money each of them would get. While Tyla and Mandy were not bad people, they really didn’t want to split their money with the eight Cops that remained. That would be ridiculous, and not enough money for all their hard work. So they needed to find a way to limit the amount of Cops that finished the game. Cops couldn’t kill other Cops, but if they were smart, they could find other ways to kill the Cops.

-------------------------------------------------------

After The Menace buried his new money, he set off again into the tunnels to find a new place to rob. He had carefully closed the back door at the other place, so hopefully the Cops would not figure out that he was using the tunnels. While he wasn’t afraid that the Cops would actually catch him (he was never going to surrender), he was worried that if too many Cops came down there he would not be able to kill them all. This was why he had to move quickly and efficiently. He had big plans for the rest of the game. Each day he would be busy, and each day he would make more and more money. He just hoped that the Robbers in jail would not find a way to escape. He didn’t want them to have any of his money.

-------------------------------------------------------

Officer Tyla was growing tired of spending all her time in the Police Station and she told her teammates that she was going on a patrol. Sgt. Clements offered to go with her, and she gratefully accepted. She loved talking to Mandy but she didn’t have the intensity of Mandy and she didn't really want to stab her team in the back. It would be nice to talk to someone about real things, about life other than Cops and Robbers. Unfortunately, Sgt. Chris Clements wanted to talk about the game. Clements had a problem with “Chief” Heidman, and thought that somehow, they needed to get Chief Pitman back. Tyla, just like the rest of the team, had no idea where Pitman was, but she felt differently. When both Pitman and Heidman were there, it was always a stressful scene being at the Police Station. Clements agreed, but he wanted to see the team strong and together, not separated. With all eight Cops working together, finding this last Robber would be a cinch.

The Standings so far:

Cops:
Six Robbers caught and in jail at $75,000 each.
$450,000 split 8 ways.
$56,250 each.

Robbers:
$300,000 split 1 way.

PIs:
Nathalie: $200,000
Pat: nada
Next time on Cops and Robbers: Sgt. Clements takes matters into his own hand, The Menace continues his rampage of Paradise City, and The Robbers break free… again.

Day Twenty-Three: One Robber Left

Private Investigator Pat Sutherland ran back to his house to send the picture he had taken of the Robbers in front of their hideout. He had seen the SWAT truck come and take one of them away, but Pat thought that maybe his picture which identified the other two Robbers may make him some money. When the SWAT team got that picture they would be able to patrol the city and if they found either of those two Robbers they would be able to arrest him, and Pat would make $100,000. This picture wasn’t much, but it was something.

---------------------------------------------------------

“Chief” Scott Heidman sat at his desk with his head in his hands thinking about the game so far. How maddening it was that his team went behind his back and made that raid the other day! How could they do that to their own teammate? But how pissed could he be, now that they had 5 Robbers behind bars? He looked around the room at his team. It really had fallen apart. With Officer Eby being killed last night, Captain Cam being killed the other day, Sgts. Wells and Clements in the hospital, and Chief Kyle Pitman who abandoned them nowhere to be found, the Cops looked the be struggling. In the station right now was the rest of his team. Officers Steve Edwards and Tyla Leonard sat talking to eachother. Captain Dirks was watching the prisoners with Lt. Amanda Maurice. And that was it. At least the two wounded Cops should be out by the end of the day.

The following is the account of Andrew “The Menace” Cowin on Day Twenty-Three:

The Menace had let The Legend go to the hospital by himself. There was no way that with this bag containing $200,000 The Menace was going anywhere near that hospital. Where he was headed was the mystery buildings he had heard so much about in the south-west quadrant. He didn’t know much about them, but he did know that they had contained some pretty sweet tunnels, and one building in particular had contained a plethora of guns and stuff. It was around these buildings that he was going to hide this bag, and then get to work.

----------------------------------------------------------

Christopher “The Muscle” Pitman sat on a sofa with a beer in one hand and a television remote in the other. The time running out in the half, The Muscle’s Colts were leading the Pats by 28. It was a good game for the Colts, and The Muscle was happy. So this was the jail that the SWAT officers ran. It was a pretty sweet setup, and the game helped The Muscle feel a little better about the fact that he was eliminated from Cops and Robbers. It was frustrating, but beside him on the couch was a female SWAT officer named Cecilia. The Muscle didn’t really like the name, but he liked the look of her, and it was on. The game may be over, but not so was The Muscle’s chance to score.

----------------------------------------------------------

After hiding the bag, The Menace with two guns drawn decided to check out the mystery buildings. After breaking down a couple doors, he found the building that led to the underground tunnels which made their way throughout the entire city, making stops along the way at different buildings. Guns in hand, The Menace made his way through the tunnels until he found something interesting; a door labeled Paradise City Jewelers. Not tonight, The Menace thought, but soon… After he freed some Robbers. But freeing the Robbers would have to wait as well. Tonight, The Menace was going to rob a place. He just had to find one.

---------------------------------------------------------

The Architect hadn’t exactly given up when The Wit had a gun pointed at him, but he had thought for a second that his game was over. Well it wasn’t and now The Architect was going to do whatever it took to escape this jail and finish what he started by killing The Wit. He had been talking with The Hutt and The Stylist and together they had a plan to escape. The Cops were down to probably only around six members and with five Robbers in jail they could do it. All they needed was for something important to attract some of the Cops outside to go on a raid, and they would be home free. The Stylist had stolen keys from Captain Dirks when they were flirting, and apparently he hadn’t noticed until recently when he checked the cells. He never found it, and the Robbers were home free, if they didn’t have an entire team of Cops to get past.

---------------------------------------------------------

Near the mystery buildings in the south-west quadrant a man was closing up shop at Underwood Convenience. The man opened the till and brought it to the back room to put in the safe for the night. Abruptly, the door that was not supposed to open burst open and a giant with a black mask on jumped into the room with guns firing into the man. The Menace could not believe his luck as the man’s money flew into the air and fell to the floor. Quickly The Menace shoved the man aside and stuffed all the money as quick as he could into a bag and then ran to the front of the store to see what else he could find. After breaking open the second till, The Menace found it to be full and again stuffed all the moneys into his bag. Jumping over the man sitting on the floor in the back, The Menace ran back into the tunnel with the bag strapped over his back and both guns drawn and facing forwards. Money was good, it was even better now that he was the only one to have it.

--------------------------------------------------------

The Legend had walked into the hospital hours ago, and with the Cops already in there, he had basically surrendered. But he knew that when he was released from the Hospital there was a chance that The Menace would free him on the way over to Prison. Also, if he got into prison, he would have 5 teammates there to help him escape. He was in a bad position, but The Legend always liked to look on the bright side of life.

So today we say goodbye to our burley friend Christopher “The Muscle” Pitman.

He pretty much shot like 8 people in the game, and although he went down and get arrested it was not in vain, as his teammates were able to escape. I like him lots, and I will miss writing about him.

The Standings so far:
Cops:
Five Robbers arrested at $75,000 each
Total: $375,000 split 8 ways.

Robbers:
$200,000 split 2 ways

Next time on Cops and Robbers… With The Menace on the loose, some Cops try to get the last Robber, while the ones they have in custody are not going to stick around for long.

Day Twenty-Two: Going Back

PI Pat Sutherland wanted to say goodbye to PIs Micah and Michelle, but he really did not have time. He had to get to his house, to use his phone and call the SWAT to get them to seize the hideout before the Cops took everything. Maybe there were some Robbers still hiding in there. Either way, if his call resulted in arrests of recovered money, he would see a big paycheck. Suddenly he realized that in the rules of the game, a PI needs to have pictures of the suspicious buildings or characters. Rushing back to the hideout, Pat tried to find Michelle’s camera in the dark. She had to have dropped it.

------------------------------------------------------

Officer Lindsay Eby sat on the outside of the bars of the holding cells watching her captives. “Chief” Heidman had been considerable angry that no one had told him about the hideout, but he can’t argue with results. Each Robber in custody at the end of 30 days resulted in a $75,000 raise for the remaining Cops at the end of the game. Lindsay’s math was not so great but she could calculate that five Robbers in jail meant a portion of $375,000 was coming her way. The Hutt, The Stylist, The Architect, The Chump and The Wit were not saying much. They knew that the end of the game was coming quickly, and that if they stayed in jail, they would not be making any money. The Wit was looking peculiarly angry in the direction of The Architect. Lindsay wondered what that was about, but it did not matter, soon she would be going out and she was not coming back without a Robber in custody.

-------------------------------------------------------

Andrew “The Menace” Cowin yelled up ahead for The Legend and The Muscle to stop running for a second. They had been running for quite some time, and had made it very far away from their second hideout. The Menace had a little problem. While he knew they had to give up the money that was recovered when the Cops took the hideout, he didn’t think that the Cops would find the money buried in the garden in the backyard. The Menace knew it would be risky, but they had just under $200,000 in the backyard, and seeing as there is only three of them left, that mixed with whatever else they stole would give them each a hefty payday. The Menace knew it was going against his gut to make the call, but they needed to go back and get the money. They had guns, they could protect themselves.

The Following is the account of Private Investigator Nathalie Hainaut on Day Twenty-Two:

With pictures of the Robbers’ hideout and of many of the Robbers themselves all over Nathalie’s table, she knew she was in good shape. With a phone in her hand, and a phone number forever etched in her brain, Nathalie knew it was time to make some money. She dialed the number and a mysterious man’s voice picked up on the other line. He asked Nathalie what sort of information she had, and once she told him about the pictures of the Robbers and their hideout, the man’s voice said that he would put a raid into motion. This group of SWAT officers would take the hideout, arrest whoever they could find, and search the whole place for any loot. All Nathalie needed to do was send to pictures over from her computer. Nathalie rushed to get that done because she didn’t know how much time she would have. She emailed the pictures, and called again. The man picked up again, told her to stay inside, and everything would be taken care of. The SWAT team was on their way to the hideout.

--------------------------------------------------------

The Menace ran through the dark into the hideout’s backyard. It seemed that the Cops were gone, but just to be sure The Muscle was standing in shadows of the front yard to watch out for any activity. The Legend dug as fast as he could, and in no time they reached their large duffle bag filled with bills. Grabbing it out of the hole, The Menace ran out of the backyard followed by The Legend. The Muscle saw them, and began jogging their way, when a flash from across the street distracted him. His eyes took some time to get adjusted to the dark again but when they did, he saw a portly fellow running through the backyards away from them. He must have been a Private Investigator. The Menace yelled for The Muscle to forget it, but The Muscle would not listen, and he ran across the street to chase the PI.

Just then, a huge black truck came speeding around the corner without a siren, but The Muscle knew what it was. Looking behind him, he could see that The Menace and The Legend had already disappeared in some backyards. A dozen men came piling out of the truck with semi-automatic guns drawn, and The Muscle turned to run. He could feel blood packed explode on the backs of his legs, and the little explosions messed with his balance and he fell right there in the middle of the street. Within seconds, men piled on top of him, pinning him to the ground and cuffing him. The Muscle knew this was probably the end of the game for him. He swore again and again.

---------------------------------------------------------

Officer Lindsay Eby walked down the street in her uniform towards where the arrests had taken place. She had an idea that some of the escaped Robbers may go back to the hideout, but none of the Cops wanted to come with her. They thought the chances were too slim to bother with. Lindsay was frustrated about the lack of devotion and trust within the Cops, and she wanted to be an example of hard work. Everyone had doubted her to this point, but she was going to prove them wrong. Just then a large man ran out between two houses followed by another smaller guy. The larger one was lugging a giant bag. Lindsay drew her gun and yelled for the two men to stop, but they didn’t. Lindsay decided to take a chance. She called for backup, pointed, aimed and shot at the smaller guy. From a distance she could see the guy stumble and fall. She had hit him! She ran over to make the arrest just as the bigger guy turned around, pulled out a gun and shot 2,3,4 times into the chest of Officer Eby. She staggered back and sat on the grass. Her suit told her she was eliminated.

---------------------------------------------------------

PI Nathalie Hainaut picked up the phone as it rang and listened to the mysterious man’s voice. The voice told her that the SWAT team had recovered around $100,000 and arrested one Robber at another $100,000 rate. Congratulations, the voice said, you just made $200,000. Nathalie sat back and wondered, if she should even risk trying anything else.

So today we say goodbye to our happy little friend Officer Lindsay Eby:

She tried her best, and in the end inflicted some damage to the only two remaining Robbers, and because of her there is only one healthy Robber left.
The Standings so far:

Cops:
Five Robbers arrested at $75,000 each
Total: $375,000 split 8 ways.

Robbers:
$200,000 split 2 ways

Next time on Cops and Robbers… The Legend, who was shot has to take the risk of going to the hospital. The Menace tries a heist on his own, and the jailed Robbers plan a breakout. Also, The Muscle tries to figure out if there is any way to escape the SWAT jail he has found himself in.
